Español al Sur
Español al Sur is a Spanish language institute focussing not only on the language, but also the Argentine culture. It results from the creative process of a group of three persons who worked intensely on the set up of an institution on the Spanish language and culture. The aim is, while learning the language, to also give the students an insight into the life in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We developed a method that combines these two elements and prompts the discussion. It's a different way of learning Spanish, meeting the students' interests in the cultural background, too. We also offer a wide range of options in the field of the Tango and tourism. And last but not least we are always concerned to improve and extend our programme.
General criteria of teaching
Our courses are based on a communicative teaching method, so that the students develop their understanding while listening or reading, improve the oral expression and perfect the written expression according to their level.
Systematic classes on grammar support this aim. The students acquire a solid basis of the language enabling its correct use in communication.
The language course in groups is organised on four levels:
• Beginners
• First level
• Intermediate level
• Advanced level
Language test
After registration each participant will receive a test form by mail which The students first pass a written test in their own country that will be sent by mail after the inscription. The definitive placement of the student will only take place after an interview at the language institute in Buenos Aires.

• Spanish with specific aims (Exam of the UBA- University of Buenos Aires, business)
• Grammar course
• Argentinian and South American literature
Advanced Courses and language trainee for Spanish teachers
A course especially designed for Spanish teachers concentrates on specific subjects of grammar and includes classes on teaching methods and learning strategy.
escuelaOrganisation of the courses
The courses are organised as weekly sequences of ten or twenty hours in group, with two or four lessons per day and a rotation of the teachers. However, depending on the student's proficiency, there also exists the possibility to join a course.
The improvement of oral and writing skills is achieved by an interactive method using real examples: video, publicity, radio, songs, newspapers, magazines, etc.
Individual courses according to the student's knowledge and needs may be arranged.
