TESOL Certificate
The Teacher Training experts of ILAC – International Language Academy of Canada have created a TESOL Certificate course that conforms to the guidelines of TESL Canada and the CLC Canadian Language Council.
ILAC, and it’s TESOL Certificate program, is also registered and approved as a Private Career College under the Private Career Colleges Act .
Our course, with 100 hours of classroom instruction plus a 20-hour practicum, is run intensively over 4-weeks, or, when available, part-time over 4-months. A 10-hour practicum option is also available.
The ILAC TESOL Certificate has been perfected through more than 2000 hours of research and development, and is taught by experienced ESL professionals.
In ILAC’s TESOL training course, trainees explore teaching, learning and language through task-based, participatory and interactive experiences. The learning process is not passive. Trainees learn how to teach by doing, reflecting and then practicing more.

* Teaching and learning theory
* Current methodology
* Lesson and unit planning
* Teaching language systems (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, functions)
* Language skills (speaking, listening, writing, reading)
* Testing and evaluation
Candidates are assessed on the following
* An observation report
* A progress test
* An achievement test
* A lesson planning task
* A unit plan
* Microteaching/practicum
