United International College

The School
UIC is situated just metres from Oxford Street and one minute from Bond St. underground station in Central London, an ideal location for enjoying all the sights of the city. Our students come from over 50 different countries, including British students studying one of the many foreign language courses that we teach.
The Staff
The teachers at UIC all hold qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language and have a wide range of teaching experience in the UK and overseas. Only teachers with a background in business or examination preparation teach on our specialist programmes.
Our administration team speak a number of different languages and are available throughout the day if you need any help while you are here, or if you have any questions before you arrive. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding customer service before, during and after your course of study.
Your Welfare
We understand that sometimes living in a foreign country is not easy, even for a short time, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. We can arrange your accommodation for you and for someone to meet you at the airport. On your first day, you will receive an introduction to the college and be given information about studying at UIC and living in London.
Courses
General English: * Maximum students in a class 14 * 15 hours per week * Start any Monday * Beginners to Advanced levels
The General English course is for students who want to improve their ability in everyday English.
The course involves practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, together with grammar and pronunciation. The main emphasis of the class is on practical communication to develop fluency and confidence.
The class teacher follows a syllabus for your level but will use additional materials to practise grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation. We would also like you to ask your teacher to cover anything specific that you want to learn.
Accommodation
At UIC, we offer a wide range of accommodation options to suit different lifestyles and budgets.
Choose a student residence in Central London or student house in zone 2, sharing your overseas experience with other international students from around the globe, or the security of staying with a host family, away from the lively city centre.
