GENERAL COURSES
ILS operates an academic year from September - May and offers shorter, more intensive courses in the summer.
General English students are encouraged to study for an academic year and finish one level of English in that time.
To complete one level involves 120 hours of classroom study (2 x 60 hour courses).
At the end of each level students take an ILS level test and usually have the option taking an Internationally recognised qualification too. ILS is an examination centre for the London Chamber of Commerce.
Our courses are linked to our system of levels which is linked to the Council of Europe 'Common European Framework of Languages', the TOEFL, the IELTS, the University of Cambridge Examinations in English and the London Chamber of Commerce English for Business Examinations
Distance Learning
ILS can provide distance learning courses for groups of 1-3 students.
This kind of course can be ideal for students who want a low cost course great deal of flexibility. The course is also ideal for small groups of students who live and work outside Tallinn.
ILS will construct a course of self study around a published CD Rom course. E-mail tasks will also be used during the course. The course involves a weekly tutorial with an ILS trainer via a Skype conference call or other web conferencing tools.
TEACHERS
ILS offers a variety of Teacher Training courses in Estonia and abroad through its training partners.
International Language Services OÜ in Tallinn will be running a course for teachers of Business English which will also serve as a preparation course for the London Chamber of Commerce Examinations Board Further Certificate in Teaching Business English LCCIEB FTBE.
The LCCI FTBE is one of the only internationally recognised British qualifications for teaching Business English and as such is extremely useful to have for any teacher who is involved or would like to become more involved in the teaching of English for Business.
