The Academy of English Studies Ireland

The School
Our school was founded in 1988, and we have been successfully providing students with high quality English-language tuition since.
The Academy is a small friendly school ; our capacity is approximately 100 students (at peak). We work closely with our students to ensure not only that they learn English well, but also that the experience is an enjoyable one.
Whether you need to learn English for an employment opportunity, or just for your own benefit, we hope you take the time to browse our site to see what we have to offer.
Courses
» Here in The Academy we have four hours' class per day, from 9.00 to 13.30 with a break at 11.00. Each hour covers one of the major disciplines : reading and vocabulary ; grammar and structure ; listening and speaking ; and writing. Our maximum class size is fifteen students. » On a student's first day, he does a placement test which takes approximately 30 minutes. He then goes to the appropriate level class. After class he is issued with a letter for a student bus ticket. Classes are conducted five days a week. » There is usually a different teacher for each hour. Our teachers are all university qualified native speakers with the necessary TEFL qualification. We generally like to employ a range of teachers ( Irish, English and American), so that students can familiarize themselves with different accents. » Courses run throughout the year, and may last from two weeks to twelve months. » Students may start any Monday (subject to availability). » Students are prepared for a variety of international examinations (FCE, CAE, TOEFL, TOEIC, TIE). » Courses may be tailored to an individual's needs.
Staff » All teachers are experienced university graduates with the necessary EFL qualifications. » Teachers are generally drawn from various English speaking backgrounds (Ireland, England, America).
