Academic Staff
CES prides itself on the high quality and motivation of our academic staff. Our Director of Studies will be available to give you advice and help.
All our teachers are qualified university graduates and have extensive experience in teaching multinational classes. Your teacher will set clear learning objectives for you and will advise and help you to achieve the maximum benefit from your course.
The most up-to-date technology and text books are available to help you reach your language targets.
Self-Access Study
Self-Access study is an important part of our programme and students may choose from a wide range of published materials as well as video and audio tapes. Students will be guided in their selection of materials by their teachers and the Self-Access Centre Co-Ordinator.
Courses
Throughout the year Centre of English Studies offers a wide range of courses for adults, all including a comprehensive programme of language learning. There is continuous assessment for all students, and long stay students get a progress report each month. Whether you require English for professional, academic or social purposes, CES has a course which will meet your needs.
Beginners
Absolute beginners are accepted 5 times each year. At times other than these clients must join class at the lowest existing level.
Certificates and Reports
A Certificate of Attendance is given to each student at the end of their course.
If required a detailed report is given to each student outlining important aspects of the course and containing recommendations for further study.
Accommodation
There are three floors in the residence. All rooms are en-suite and there is a kitchen/living room for each of the 6 bedrooms. Each living/kitchen area at Dun An Oir is furnished to an extremely high standard, fully integrated kitchen with all modern appliances. Swipe card security system is used throughout and all floors are serviced by a lift. Comfortable lounge areas include Satellite TV and DVD players.
