School Location
Castlebar, where we are based is the ideal location in which to pursue an English Language Course. Small enough to be friendly, warm and welcoming to the visitor (local population is 20,000), it is large enough to host cinemas, restaurants, theatres, golf, bowling, tennis, indoor swimming, horse riding, discos, fishing and walking. All of these activities are available to our students - they are most welcome - and there are free E-mail and Internet access facilities. The town is set in the midst of beautiful scenery. Rugged mountains, sparkling rivers and lakes and famous scenic locations like Connemara, Achill and Céide are all within easy reach.
Courses
- Group courses have a maximum of 4 students per group (often less) and you will be placed only with students of the same level. Group courses are for 15 hours per week, but many students take the opportunity of booking additional hours on a one to one individual basis.
- Individual courses are for either 20 or 30 hours per week. They are highly focused, intense and goal-driven. For many busy executives an individual course is the perfect way to make quick progress in a short time. The student works each day with two teachers and will mix socially with other teachers and students every day.
Accommodation
We normally recommend that students are placed with one of our highly dedicated executive host families.
They have been chosen by us for their friendly hospitality, high standard of accommodation and their genuine interest in foreign visitors. This method gives students an opportunity to practice their developing language skills and to get to know ordinary Irish people and to learn about their way of life.
Host family accommodation consists of single room with evening meal, bed and breakfast for five days, and full board at weekends. All of the host families are located close to the school. Generally, a student will be able to walk to school each morning and home in the evening. In other cases, the accommodation is only a few minutes drive from the school.
