The School
The school is in the heart of the historical centre of Naples, in the university area. Here you will meet friendly people who can help you with accommodation and give you all the information you need for a pleasant stay in Naples. You’ll become part of familiar surroundings, informal and cheerful just like the Neapolitans’ nature. The teachers have long experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Apart from the language courses themselves, you’ll take part in other interesting activities: lectures, guided tours in the city, Italian films, and walks which discover the most original features of our city.
Language courses
Throughout the year, the Centre offers various kinds of course to meet the diverse needs of students.
Intensive courses, Three-month courses, Commercial Italian courses, Personalized courses, Individual lessons
Intensive courses (A1)
These take place every month of the year, each course with a duration of 4 weeks. One, two and three-week enrolment is also accepted.
Intensive courses plus (A2)
Individual lessons from 5 to 10 hours each per week (1 or 2 hours in the afternoon) together with the intensive course for students who need to widen their knowledge of the course contents and develop oral ability.
Three-month courses (A3)
These are held from November to February and from March to June. The 2-hour lessons take place three times a week over a period of 14 weeks.
Commercial Italian course (A4)
A 2-week course, five 3-hour lessons per week from Monday to Friday.
The course covers finance, tourism, business, and commercial correspondence.
Personalized courses (A5)
These are special courses for one or two students, one week or more in duration, with 8 hours of lessons and conversation per day (including lunch with the teacher). The courses are organized according to the individual needs of each student.
Individual lessons (A6)
One ore more students may request individual lessons, agreeing the programme and timetable according to their study needs.
Lessons can be given at the student's home either in Naples or other localities.
Cultural Activities
Since the language is a vehicle and mirror of the society in which it is used, lectures on topics and aspects of Italian civilization and culture are run parallel to the language course.
History of art: the City
This lecture, together with guided tours, illustrates the main steps in the artistic development of the city of Naples.
The history of the Italian Cinema
A lecture which covers various aspects of the Italian cinema, together with the projection and discussion of films.
Naples: its history and tradition
This introduces participants to the myths, beliefs, essence and "alternative" ambitions of a city whose mysteries and history render it fascinating.
