There are three types of class:
Beginner level classes will give you a solid foundation in the Japanese language. This will give you a basis on which to progress with your everyday life in Japan.
Intermediate level classes build on the basics learned in the previous courses, working on comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. At this stage you can begin to plan for a University Entrance exam if required.
Advanced level classes will give you the skills to read, write, listen and speak freely in everyday situations. With the confidence gained in the classroom you can now attempt to enter a University entrance exam or progress further in Japanese society.
School Activities
IEA Tokyo arranges many social events throughout the year. This helps to create a relaxed and fun environment and gives you a chance to get to know your fellow students and staff outside the classroom. Events range from visiting Tokyo Disneyland to taking in a traditional Japanese festival or matsuri. Take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony or visit a Japanese pub where you can eat and drink together. Not all events are restricted to Tokyo either. Experience the Japanese countryside and other tourist attractions all arranged with the help of the school.
