OUR SCHOOL Tía Tula is a mid-sized Spanish language school situated in an unbeatable location in the middle of the pedestrionized and historic center of Salamanca - the City of Spanish -, bustling with student and tourist activity, surrounded by the main monuments of the city. Our classrooms have the charm of the classic European style: spacious, outward facing and light, with French windows and balconies with views of the monumental centre and antique wooden floors, harmoniously combined with the most modern audio visual and technical infrastructure (internet connection and wifi included) and air conditioning. OUR METHOD The method we have adopted is a balanced combination of classroom based exercises and extracurricular activities: •It is an intensive program using an advanced method of teaching Spanish. Work groups are kept small (10 students maximum) to ensure you gain the most out of your lessons and student participation is encouraged during the course. You will be provided with all the necessary learning material and will have access to internet, multimedia and audiovisual support. •The extracurricular activities run in parallel to complement classroom methodology. As part of the program you will enjoy excursions to the rest of Spain, enjoy free time and sport not only in the city but also in the countryside. A personal touch. We want your stay to be unforgettable and to ensure this is achieved we take care of all the necessary arrangements and details. Your accommodation - we have an experienced and dedicated person whose task is to ensure that your safety, enjoyment and learning needs are met.
OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF Our teaching staff is composed of experienced philologists licensed in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. As part of their responsibilities they offer tutorials outside of class for those students who want to ask about any aspect of the course. What's more, the teachers meet regularly to keep track of their students' progress, because our objective is always the best quality of teaching. Tía Tula's team of teachers are friendly, interested and concerned about their students. They really go far and beyond the call of duty, and are always ready to help with whatever the students might need. On the other hand, the administrative/secreterial staff works hard to make the students feel at home at our school and in Salamanca and becomes a key support for them. They assist them with whatever they may need, give them information about the activities offered in Salamanca as well as the ones offered by Tía Tula, help them plan trips when necessary, etc... Since we are a mid-sized school, our staff knows all our students personally which results in a close, warm and familiar relationship.
OTHER SERVICES The accommodation is one of the most important parts of your stay. We have a team solely dedicated to finding the best families for our homestay programs, so our students will feel at home and will make their residence a part of their experience and learning. Accommodation is selected carefully by visiting all potential host families and monitoring the student's satisfaction during their stay. If at any time, a student is in a problematic situation not due to a misunderstanding that can easily be resolved, we quickly provide alternative accommodation. At the end of their stay the students fill out a survey of satisfaction about their host family. Their opinion is fundamental in the evaluation and rating of the host families. We also offer the most comfortable and high quality alternative accommodation (such as apartments, studios, rooms in flats, hotels and hostels) for students to choose the way they want to live in Salamanca. We also want you to enjoy your time here with our wide range of extra activities including guided tours of the city, latin dancing, sports, horse riding, outdoor activities in the countryside, live concerts, cooking lessons and much more!
