The School Our school "ESTUDIO DE ESPANOL PICHIÑCHA" was established in May 1988 and the interior was completely renovated in September 2001. We have a capacity for about 50 students. We welcome students from all over the world and presently we are one of the best known language schools for foreigners in Quito. The school is located about 5 walking minutes away from the park El Ejido and about 15 minutes from the colonial part of Quito. We have about 30 teachers, highly qualified and flexible. Normally they rotate each week. So the students have a significant variety of experience, although they may as well choose to have the same teacher for a longer period. Courses Our courses are tailormade and completely prepared according to the wishes and needs of our students but still based on our special tutoring material. We use six classification levels. We offer private lessons of 20, 25, 30 or 35 hours per week at all levels from total beginners to highly advanced students. As occasionally we have students who prefer to learn in small groups we also offer group courses of 25 or 30 hours/week with a maximums of three students. In case there are not enough students enrolled for a group course on a particular level we reduce the amount of lessons and students will have one-to-one tuition until there is another student at the same level. The emphasis is on conversation, although our classes also include grammar, audio, writing and reading newspaper and magazine articles. For students with special needs we offer classes that emphasize for example the following: Spanish for business, Spanish for Cabin Crew, Spanish for teachers of Spanish, courses with emphasis on literature or courses with emphasis on up-to-date topics, Spanish for tourism. At the end of the course all students receive a certificate of participation. We are authorized to provide our students with a language diploma which is accepted by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education if they pass a special exam. Accommodation Sharing the home of an Ecuadorian family, you have a valuable insight into the life and culture of our country. You do not only learn how we speak but also how we think. We have about 60 selected host families. They have a considerable experience with foreign students from all over the world and enjoy their company. Our students are given their own key. Our host families always meet the needs of our students, sometimes having small children in the family, cooking a special diet, having pets, smoker or non-smoker families. All students have a single furnished room, full board and weekly laundry service. Bed linen is included. Students have their meals together with the family. The maximum distance between the host family and the school is 20 minutes either walking or by bus.
