About the School Leicester Square School of English (LSSE) started in 1992, is accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK. Over the last 14 years we have taught over twenty thousand students and become one of the most popular schools in central London. Wardour Street SchoolWe are located in two buildings: the first on Wardour street is a wonderful place to visit and study as you can see all of the different cultures of London blending together. There are two common rooms where you can sit and chat to your new friends. Courses at LSSE - General English Courses - Cambridge and IELTS Exam Courses - Academic Year / Foundation Course in English - ESOL Year Course - One-to-one Courses Accommodation The accommodation we will provide for you will have been been carefully checked by our Accommodation Officer, Lubie Stanova to ensure it follows the guidelines set down by the British council. You can choose between homestay, private home, hostel, hotel or university halls of residence accommodation. All of the accommodation we use has excellent links to central London by bus, rail and underground. On average the commuter travels 45 minutes to their place of work, therefore students should expect similar travelling times to the school. For hostel, hotel or halls of residence accommodation, the average travelling time is 20 minutes. Your accommodation is reserved from the evening on the Sunday before your course starts, until midday on the Sunday at the end of your course. Activities The biggest advantage of studying at LSSE is that you are surrounded by hundreds of leisure activities and attractions including: * Theatreland, the largest theatres in the UK are here * Cinemaland, Leicester Square is home to the most prestigious cinemas in the UK, where you can see the famous Hollywood stars on their Premiere nights * Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the River Thames (boat cruises) are a short distance through Trafalgar Square and St James' Park * The shopping centre of Oxford Street. is within walking distance * Chinatown is just one of the local areas providing a wide variety of restaurants * London sightseeing tours from an open top bus which you catch from Piccadilly Circus (1 minute walk)
