XCanda Spanish Institute

Xcanda is located in the historic city of Oaxaca, a colonial gem situated in the heart of the Oaxacan Valley. A six hour drive / 45 minutes flight from Mexico City, Oaxaca is a beautiful example of colonial style architecture, and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage City.

Our school is located in the beautiful and newly refurbished neighborhood of Jalatlaco, one of the oldest and most historic districts of the city. With brightly decorated houses lining cobble-stoned streets, Jalatlaco is a tranquil neighborhood that still lies inside the city's bustling Historical District.

Programs and Levels
We base all of our programs on the full immersion method here at Xcanda. Our students and teachers are only allowed to speak Spanish on the school grounds. This assures our student's maximum learning potential at all times.

We are very proud of our friendly, courteous and well-trained staff. All our teachers undergo an extensive SSL teacher training course on-site and all are thoroughly trained on dynamics. Our didactic resources are second to none in Oaxaca.

Accomodations
Because not everybody has the same likes and dislikes, we provide various different types of accomodations for our students . Choose the type of accomodation that best suits your needs.

Your options are as follows:

Homestay
Staying with a Mexican family is the preferred choice here at Xcanda. Living and spending time with your Mexican family will allow you to use the spanish that you are learning at Xcanda in an everyday environment and truely experience the Mexican culture.

Hotel
The "Hotel Central" is right smack in the middle of Oaxaca, only one block from the Zocalo and 9 blocks from the school. Xcanda students receive special discounts for single and double occupancy here.

Hostels
Hostels are also available for your convinience. They are more private and you have a choice whether to share a room or have a private room.
